Patrick Jephson,writer and broadcaster, will be giving the keynote address. The sessions that follow include a stream for Heads, Governors, Bursars and Development practitioners who want to extend their remit and/or want to enhance the role of Development within their schools. Subjects include 'Incorporating a Development office into your school' with Jonathan Cook from ISBA ; 'Maximising Assets' with Doug Locke of Veale Wasbrough Vizards and Patrick Derham's session 'Unleashing Aspirations' where he promises to share the uniqueness of Rugby's bursary programme.
The second stream for Development professionals covers topics such as ‘Making the Ask’ with Martin Kaufman, Head of Development at The Museum of London and an expert in the field; Tim will talk about how to identify, cultivate and connect with major gift prospects; ‘Legacies’ with Richard Radcliffe, one of our most highly rated speakers, plus a look at ‘Annual Funds – Theory v. Reality’.
Later in the day, between 4pm and 5pm, we have seven workshops offering delegates the chance to participate in moderated discussions with experts on a range of topics, as well as four drop in sessions for anyone who would like a 'one to one' with an experienced Development practitioner. The day ends, as always, with a chance to relax, have a drink and enjoy informal networking at the Conference dinner.

Friday 11 June 2010 - Conference closes after lunch

Friday opens with a session on 'What's happening in Development Today' with Eton's Bill O' Hearn talking about current development initiatives taking place in schools. Other topics range from ‘How To Make Your Small And Mid Level Gifts Add Up To A Lot’, ‘Using Social Communications In Your Fundraising’; a feasibility study case study, and much more.
The final session with top American Development professionals Mark Aimone and Ted Probert will end the Conference on a high note with their session entitled 'Building Human Capital to Raise Capital'. Mark is Regional Director of Major Gifts and Ted is Director of International Advancement at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, one of the USA’s one of the USA’s foremost independent schools.
The Conference closes with lunch at 1330.
